    I think you can disable the shake and shuffle thing through settings on the new nano. Haven't done it yet so will let you all know for sure.

    Edit: Ha! My spouse is SO handy. Here's how you turn off shake/shuffle: Go to Settings; then to Playback; then to Shake. It's set up as the default so it'll say Shake--shuffle. If you toggle that, it'll say off.
