Hi,
Just curious. I am nowhere near ready to get a new bike but was looking around the web (drooling over the surly bikes) and wondered...do any of you out there ride one of the surly frames? I particularly liked the instigator and surly is now offering the karate monkey in a complete bike (fixed).
Just curious.

Oy vey, sorry Gray! I have a Kona Lisa DS (2006 model) which I love. Unfortunately, it doesn't see much action.
I've heard good things about Surlys, though. Is there a shop that carries Surly in Morgantown or will you have to drive up to the 'Burgh? If you have to make a trip to the latter, stop at Sarris Candies in Cannonsburg and get yourself some of their chocolate covered pretzels.
I don't do dirt (yet), but one of our shop guys rides a Surly MTB (actually, I think he races it!). He loves it! Says it's a huge improvement over his last one (not sure what that was).

Which one does he ride? It would be interesting to know. When I get into this dirt thing and learn some stuff...at least a year probably, I'm thinking about building a surly mtb.
Mick,
I would have to go up to Pittsburgh when i want to get started on this. I'm not a big fan of the sarris chocolate, but my partner is so I guess I'll have to take her with me. Maybe she'll be in better spirits about me buying a bike if I give her chocolate.![]()

I'm pretty sure it's the Karate Monkey.
