If it's 08, you shouldn't have to worry about the front der. (You will have to check the cage of the rear der, tho.) That said, my BF ran the same '07 CT FD with both standard and compact had no problems, regardless of what the literature said. Go figure. If I were you, I'd go with what I have. If it works, great. If it doesn't work, upgrade.
Just make sure to go with a Record chain/cassette and the SRAM rings will be humming perfectly in sync.

As for the ceramic BB, there is a noticeable difference in smoothness and IMHO worth the extra coin. Like bibs... after people take the plunge and try it, 90% of them will never go without again
