Depending on how lucky my sweet partner is with the lottery, there is a significant chance I'll be at some events. Let's say I'm not spontaneously enchanted but this is so important to him. He is one of those kids that spent his whole life dreaming about the Olympics, went to Sydney to volunteer with the Canadian team, etc. This is a BIG DEAL for him. I don't want to be a party pooper. He knows how I stand on these issues so he's also careful...
Actually I don't think anyone would drive up to Whistler during the Olympics. The price of transportation is included in the price of tickets, and there will be no parking available in Whistler for private cars. So it will be buses for all... as long as the highway walls don't collapse again!Whistler is 100+ kms. north of us. Sea to Sky Highway is a beautiful coastal drive to there, though at that time hwy. will be super busy. There is a train that goes there. Buses run frequently from bus depot downtown and also directly from the airport during ski season every winter and also in summer.
