Oooh...nothing like a seriously extended plane flight, Fredwina. Where were you coming from? And I think I also got about 10 hours of sleep total for last week, not sure why.
For anyone who needs to know, the Greek and Roman galleries at the Met are full of spectacular stuff (although you have to wonder exactly how they got that stuff). The new Museum of Art and Design is FABULOUS! Has all my textile art heroes in it--Kay Sekimachi, Mary Lee Hu, Lenore Tawney, Rebecca Bluestone--and I acquired a bunch of NEW craftsmen to love as well. Will post some pictures if I can and you all are interested, and you can also google them to see their stuff. Boyoboy. Then we went to MOMA as well. My feet hurt. I got to buy roast chestnuts on the street, which I love passionately. Got to see the Christmas lights at Rockefeller Plaza and the Saks building and windows. I do love NYC.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
