So there is a subaru forum and the mirror thing is mentioned often. They have a good, permanent fix but it does require that I take the mirror apart. This should be interesting. Subaru has been less than helpful with this car. I've had some really huge issues, mostly stemming from the less-than-honest dealership. Subaru basically told me the dealership was wrong and then backed them up and let me hang big time. I like the car, not the car company. 'nuff said.

The Harley is like from factory so not much vibration. It is quiet, smooth and will stay that way. It's actually much quieter than our Honda and our Suzuki. I can't wait to get her home today and start messing. It's a long story but I got her for almost nothing compared to what they normally cost. It needs new tires, ignition, rear blinker light, battery cover and pop up oil cap. Title is free and clear. No payments. I like that part.

Time to take a nap. As I'm sure you can understand, I had a hard time sleeping last night.

    Saint Andrew's

Around midnight on November 29, it was traditional for girls to pray to St Andrew for a husband. They would make a wish and look for a sign that they had been heard.

A girl wishing to marry could:

    * throw a shoe at a door. If the toe of the shoe pointed in the direction of the exit, then she would marry and leave her parents' house within a year
    * peel a whole apple without breaking the peel and throw the peel over the shoulder. If the peel formed a letter of the alphabet, then this suggested the name of her future groom

did this work for you, Bruno?

hahaha! Plus some Drambuie. Every toe is turned up because you inevitably end up on your back from that stuff.

Hiya Bruno!!! Happy St Andrews Day!!

Off to see a man about a MC trailer. I'm getting good at backing those things up. Ya know, until I moved out here, it never occurred to me how often I must have borrowed/switched vehicles with my brothers. I've always had a pickup truck at hand to do my hauling. Now I have to keep renting a trailer.

X - Sorry about your bad experiences. What model do you have? We have an '03 Outback and an '08 Impreza. The latter is "my" car---5 speed red vixen!! I learned to drive and passed my driver's license exam in a 1977 Subaru, so I have a weak spot for 'roos. Also love that their emblem is the Pleiades (Seven Sisters).

Anyway, you got a Harley! ENJOY.

    Happy St. Andrews day, Bruno!
    Congratulations on your Harley, X!

What a strange weekend. It's being hard to keep the positive perspective that the new adventure will be so much better! We'll get there.

I think we should walk the doggies pretty soon. They might like that....
and we might be motivated to actually clean the house if we do that. We just put together a new cabinet at the top of the stairs, but we did not organize first. We have 2 little cabinets to clear out and find a home for, etc..... so not in the mood at the moment!

    Hugs and butterflies,

    hmm

I'm not sure if i'm completely awake...I slept very well last night & woke up early to go swimming. It took me a while to be "awake" though.

We got home yesterday around 930am & then slept until 130. Bed at 730.

    Ian's still sleeping & i'm at work..

CC - recovering from an endurance race takes time! Be easy on yourself and do what you can to stay awake at work!

    thanks.

Well, we have a 2006 Subaru Impreza Outback. It is a good car, we just went through some major crap with the stealership and, in the end, Subaru backed them up. We called Subaru to find out what we could do in the situation, was told the stealership was wrong, fight it, don't sign anything... then they called the stealership to let them know what we were about to do, that we knew what they pulled... gave them time to start to cover their tracks. In the end, we ended up with a Lemon Law Buyback car that wasn't disclosed to us beforehand. Nothing we can do, they sell them all the time and know how to cover up pretty well. It's on the registration and other papers but we are out of luck. Turns out, the original complaint was the passenger airbag. It has since been a recall issue but our car is still labelled Lemonlaw. Drops the value a ton. We paid full Kelley blue book. Lost a lot on that one. Wouldn't have bought had we known it was a Lemon. Subaru assisted them in pushing the cars without public knowledge. Went to the BBB, lawyer for lemon cases... nothing.

Honestly, we can't afford a diff car because it would be a massive loss. So, I guess we're keeping this one until it blows up. It is a nice car. Don't get me wrong. We like it and it does what we need it to but we just have a bad taste in our mouths over the whole thing. It has taken us since Feb to start to embrace this car. It hauls a motorcycle like a breeze though.
