I need panniers for my newly-converted commuter, but they're not on my Christmas list as I live in Minnesota and am not a year-round-even-in-the-snow-and-below-zero rider. I'll more likely be asking for them for my birthday (June 14).

On Sunday my brother and I ordered a fluid trainer for our parents. It also came with some DVDs, the mat, and the thong. I know they were planning on just getting one because they're expensive, so now maybe they can still get it and both be able to leave their bikes hooked up. I'm getting my brother a jersey and lights, and I picked up a hi-viz vest for my parents to give to him. I also got my mom some shoes. She'll never use clipless pedals, but I think she'll benefit just from having a stiffer sole. I think I'll pick up some basic tools, like tire levers and tubes to give everyone, too. Oddly, I'm not sure if I asked for cycling stuff myself. I asked for train commuting supplies like a better backpack, wellies, and some rain pants. I'll always take more jerseys and socks, and I'd like full-finger gloves and knickers. I hear my uncle got me the Princeton Tec Yukon headlight, so I'm excited to try that out.

Gift certificate and dinner reservations at one of the better restaurants in town - some place where I'll need to get dressed for dinner. Maybe even need to buy a special dress.

    Oh, and a dinner date....

I did ask for books: cycling, adventure travel types. Toe Warmer shoe covers are an excellent stocking stuffer I got one year.

I asked for a new trainer for Christmas. My old one that I got used off Craig's List is just too noisy. I am getting DBF a new watch for running.

Nothing unless it is a donation to Heifer International or Kiva.org.

Matter of fact, I'm going to call my parents today and tell them that they'd make my Christmas if they'd walk the talk. They shout the virtues of these two organizations to the rooftops yet I just received notice that their Kiva certs from last year are about to expire because they didn't do a damn thing. Just think of the good that money could have done in a year. Grrrrrrr.

We're giving each other leather bar tape for the tandem.
And cases of yellow label so we're ready for post-ride celebrations.

I've been taking mechanic classes from my LBS so I have some tools on my wish list. Of course a bike stand would be extra fabulous too.

A few of us were discussing how handy it would be for the LBS to have a gift registry. They have all our info in their computer system anyhow so why not put some gift suggestions in the extra spaces.

Christmas came early for me in the form of a fluid trainer this past weekend (Cheap find from CL)!
So the new and amended list now asks for spinerval DVD's.
