Tours for 2009?, what 'ya got?

Since I am now single... my plans have changed and I will be looking at a few different tours for 2009.

I am pre-paid up already for a 2009 Cycle America tour... don't know which one I am taking, but will be taking one of them this summer...

I'm also looking at PacTour... one of the Desert Camps in March 2009.

What are your tentative plans?... seeing if I can buddy up with some peeps ... or maybe or a group... just seeing what else is out there.

    Just seeing what 'ya got

I'm toying around with desert camp - but it will depend on my job situation

Otherwise, I'd be tempted by Adventure Cycling's the Wild Coast, Cycle Washington or Coast and Covered Bridges. They're all in areas I really want to see

    Moab

Me and partner are already signed up and deposit paid for Woman Tours Moab Tour in Oct. Should be an adventure in training for this Florida flat-lander!

    Erm....Week 3.

I 'spect I'm a little on the slow side for the true training weeks Plus, if we do it, we'd be bringing our Bike Fridays which, based on what I've seen, drop a mile or 2 off my average speed...

Washington Bike Ride is in late July/early August. I'm planning on that one. I'm also doing Cycle Zydeco--but it's full. Tulip and KB are doing that one, too.

Chuckle. We signed up for Week 3. We could probably squeak into the requirements for one of the other weeks if it were held in June or July, but, in March? Ah, not this year--just call me a wimp. I just hope all those Bike Friday's won't make fun of my S&S coupled bike--it'll be her first trip and I hope the Friday's won't pick on her.

We also have pencil-ed in a week in June and one in October with Timberline (www.timbertours.com). Where and which one is unknown. Wherever they'll be on the week, I suppose. Pretty much guaranteed to have good riding on a low key trip. Of course, those are job and economy willing, but I need to dream.

I have 2 on the docket for next year. The LiveStrong Challenge here in San Jose, and the Tahoe Century - which is a ride around Lake Tahoe - one I've always wanted to do.

I may toss in other rides here and there - the Tour for Woodside was nice last year. I may not do the full centuries for those, though.

Possibly Pac-Tour in Phoenix in March (never been there), Cycle Zydeco in April (can't wait, gals--I'm already in training for the Cajun Two-Step!), Bike Virginia in June, hopefully a week in Italy at some point, and the RiverRide in eastern Virginia in September.

Well, we were going to do Italy, but that haas been postponed to 2010. Looking at eastern Canada, so we can drive there and take our own bikes...

Plan on the Hilly Hundred. You and friends can stay at Hovel de Silver and it's only three hours from Chicago.

Oh, I forgot about the CROC! I've pumped it up on here so many times that I plumb forgot it. It's a 3-day ride in Eastern OR over Memorial Day. I'll get y'all the info when we're ready. Several TE'ers have joined in on that one.
