The owner, Steve, is the "mad scientist" type, very intense, but he knows his stuff (been in the business many, many years) and he will never sell you something you don't need. He is a "minimalist". He is a one man shop though, and gets busy. Not your typical glitzy bike shop; more like a huge garage with tons of stuff lying around.

    Try Incycle: http://incycle.com/

They are located in Pasadena and I know a chick who gets all her stuff from there and hasn't complained yet.

Stan's Monrovia Bike Shop has a Serotta fitter, just about the best there is. Nice guys, too.

InCycle is good, so is VeloPas.

Pasadena Cyclery on Walnut. They are great and treat women as equals.

Open Road is great too. Mad scientist is right.

Incycle on Colorado has a women on hand, which is helpful.

Helen's in Arcadia is okay. They do good work.

Temple City Bike shop in Temple City, south of Pasadena, is great, friendly, won't steer you the wrong way. They back up their work.

Velo Pasadena is great too, but I didn't get the warm and fuzzy from them.

Stan's is okay. But I had some issues and had to take my bike to another shop. They have one good mechanic, if you get him, you are okay.
