The quarter metric (silver anniversary metric?) was my first organized race three years ago. Those hills were rolling, but I passed (counts fingers) FOUR people and didn't walk the bike. That year the century had more challenging hills than the quarter or half century, but the quarter and half were very do-able for the weekend rider in moderate shape, as long as you didn't get too cocky during the first half and blow yourself out.

Hubby did one of his week-long bike tours from Philly into Lancaster a few years before that, and said the hills were more than he expected, but not as bad as riding through the Delaware Water Gap.

There isn't much traffic, the roads are in good shape, the humidity and heat have broken here (Philly) the last week.

We had planned to ride it again this year (and now I'm really bummed because I'll miss meeting someone from the boards), but it's tough to find time to ride when there is a new infant in the family.

Enjoy the ride!
