hee-hee, thanks for the link.

Studded tires - I've only used Nokian Extremes with 294 (or is it 296 now?) studs, but I've listened to my dh complain about his "bad" tire slipping, it has fewer studs and is narrower. And I've figured the more studs the better. But I've noticed that the Extremes tend to pack up and "skate" if there's more than just a light dusting of new snow, and at the same time seen skinnier tires cut through the snow. So in powder snow over a flat surface like most of my commute I think narrower tires can be better, while broader tires with side studs attach better on irregular surfaces, like the never-plowed, permanently rutted from December til May local road which is my final 300 m stretch home.
