    Sorry! Getting injured sucks.

    Ice and advil will help, and wearing supportive and comfortable shoes (=running shoes) as much as you can get by with.

    You should definitely go to the doctor. It could be a stress fracture. The location of your pain sounds pretty much identical to what I experienced two years ago when I got peroneal tendinitis (it was also a really sudden onset for me). For me, it took about two months of physical therapy to heal, and I think it would have taken longer if I hadn't had the PT. I believe it is somewhat unusual for it to take this long though, I have some other issues that complicated the healing.
