Hey SC. Looks like you've gone through a lot with a happy ending.

I'm trying to understand the sequence:
    - the woman adopted the kittens
    - then dumped them somewhere?
    - someone found them and advertised them for sale?
    - ya'll found them?

If this is it, it's only because of your group's effort that they were found. This is a needle in a haystack outcome!

I'm not a pet person for health reasons, but I can't understand any reason why that woman would do what she did. It seems that she went to alot of trouble with no evident gain...and it's clear the grief she caused you.

What a happy ending!!! I just went back and read the original thread. I'm so sorry I didn't reply then -- I thought it was just pics of two adorable, happy foster kiddies! Glad that's what it turned out to be!
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.

Yes! she came in and wanted the kittens. And she wanted them that day. The ladies who interviewed her thought she was bit odd but nothing out of the ordinary. She wanted the grey kitten because (long and convincing story, mostly all lies).

My partner and I checked her home later in the day and really didn't interview her because we were given a glowing report. Then we handed over the two kittens.

Far as we could tell, she dumped the kittens after three days. She says she was too embarassed to return them to us. She could have and she would have gotten her adoption fee back and everyone would have been okay.

When we realized what had happened, we start piecing her story together with the help of my detective neighbor and started the search.

Yesterday, one of the ladies found a woman advertising the kittens for sale on Craigslist. Her neighbor had found the kittens.

And last night we recovered our kittens and gotten statements from the woman who was selling the kittens. I think someone is going to the person who originally found the kittens and get his statement.

This kind of outcome is really rare!! And the kittens seems to be calming down and not so agressive in just half a day. After what they have gone through, I want to keep them. This is the reason why we have so soo many cats.

I wanted a happy ending and let everyone know that it turned out okay. And it did.

Thank you for all for supporting me emotionally, it means a lot.

So glad this turned out well for you and the kitties. I hope you can get that woman some help or prosecution, whichever is appropriate.

So Happy to hear the kitties were found, and are now safe and warm

Hopefully they aren't too worse for the wear, and will settle down. It probably helps that they're back to a place they remember as being safe with food, water, and love provided daily. May their next forever-home be the right one.

I'm soooo happy you were able to get them back. After what you and they have been through I hope you do get to keep them. It's good that they're back in a home where they know that they're loved.

I'm so glad you found your kitties and have the knowledge and connections to make it at least legally uncomfortable for this woman.
As I type this I have a kitty sitting on my lap purring.

I'm so glad the kittens are safe and sound! I'm glad you have plenty of support and smart people around to help out.

Just curious -- what criminal charges would the woman face?
