I got this by e-mail, thought it was cool, and sat down to figure out how it worked. Strangely, nobody else found that as interesting as the original post... fancy that.

I'm with you. I figured it out before I did the calculation. Simple math. But it does give a zinger of amazement if you suspend being curious.

Recently there was a webiste with the secrets to magic tricks. I'm actually sorry I found out what was behind the magic.
