Just a quickie post from me today, as I have a house full of relatives on their way over for a bbq.
I was toasted after last Sunday's disasterous 20-mile treadmill run/walk/crawl. My right quad especially was really aching for most of the week. I couldn't even make it through my ballet class on Wednesday night. So, I didn't run all week.
Then, on Thursday, an anticipated disaster struck at work (anticipated, because although I warned the person I was working for that the task would take at least x amount of time, the person still got everything to me at the eleventh hour). So, I worked all day Thursday, left at 5:30pm to go home and feed the dogs and then came back at 7:30pm and didn't go back home until 3:35pm on Friday. Yes, I worked all through the night. Got home, ate and went to bed and slept for 12 hours straight -- didn't even get up to go pee, which is a miracle for me!
This morning, I got up and did some cleaning and then headed out for a 10-miler. I overdressed as it looked cold out there, but ended up stripping my UnderArmour shirt and tying it around my waist (I had another lightweight top over it, so I wasn't streaking!). It sprinkled on me some, but no downpour. My leg still ached a little bit, but overall I felt really good. From looking at the clock before I left and again when I got home, I clocked 92 minutes for the run. Funny thing is that I felt like I got a second wind on my uphill back home. Maybe the Hammer Gel did me some good! I took 1/2 of a Hammer Gel at about 30 minutes in, and the other 1/2 at around 1 hour. Took each with a few gulps of water from a water fountain. No weird stomach issues. Yay!
Oh, I think my mom just drove up . . . better go!

So, I didn't run all week.
