yeah, we also have the king joe 2. Drove it from San Francisco up to Portland OR (12 hours or so), no issues at all. We don't use it all that often, so I can't comment on the longevity of it, but it works out great for us.

Thank you, that says a lot about it, too. I appreciate you sharing that story with me.

I use a yakima little joe trunk rack on my toyota corolla. I've also used many other trunk racks on friends cars. I've also sold many of them and have gotten a lot of feedback. It's definately not the best for your car, chances are your car and your bike will get scratched. It's a tight fit to get 3 bikes on there. And for some reason it's always my bike that falls off when we're on the freeway. =( . Now i use bungee cord back ups when I use my friends trunk/hitch racks (the little joe has no straps for the bike, so on my rack i only use bungee cords). You get what you pay for, and for me it's worth it. (although when I got rear ended I didnt even bother fixing my bumper cuz it's already so scratched up from my bikes)

Well, after much shopping around and consideration on one of the trunk racks (didn't like it for a couple of reasons), I have decided to make the investment and am having a hitch installed on my car on Monday. I'm going to look into a rear hitch system for it with Yakima and Thule (I think that's the name) being the top 2 I consider installing on it. I am finally comfortable and happy with this decision for several reasons.

Thank you for the help, everyone.
