    Dumb question about Velogirl membership

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I just signed up for the 2009 Velogirl membership. I ordered the membership and the jersey. Will they send the jersey to me or do I need to go somewhere to pick it up? Also - how true to other bike Jersey's do these run. I ordered a size up because I want it a little looser, but I don't want to swim in it.

But I am excited to join the Velogirls!

Hi Christine! Velo Girls is excited to have you join this year!

I'll mail the jersey to you. I assume you want a 2009 jersey with the membership? Those will be available in March. If you would like a 2008 jersey I have some of those still in stock right now.

For sizing, we get the Voler women's club cut (unless someone specifies otherwise). It's a bit more generous than a racing cut, no elastic at the waist, and shorter than a men's jersey. You can compare the sizing chart at:

Wow! Thanks for the thorough reply! I really want to get in to more challenging cycling this year, and more group rides, and the Velogirls just seemed fun - besides I'll always support women's sport.

Decisions, decisions - ya know, I could always go with the 2008 and then BUY a 2009 when they are released. Let me think about it. I am a little leery as I am 5'10 and most jerseys are a bit short on me. As I also need to drop 20 pounds, I don't have the nice abs for a short jersey (yet - I'm working on it). I ordered a XXL, but if they are roomier than a racing jersey I'd probably take an XL. Maybe you'll solve to issue for me by declaring that you're out of 2008's in XL.

Anyway - thank you! I look forward to riding with you one day!

The VG jerseys are very nice. Really, my favorites. The fit is perfect---not too tight, not too loose. It has a full-length zipper and is well made. Very flattering, too. I have three of them (2006-2008 versions) and hope to treat myself to the 2009 jersey!
