Exactly. This is one of the nicest places I have been to ride. Quiet, serene and they cater to mountain biking. Sure you can go hike there but they have bike helmets on the fence posts, you know who they really expect to pay to use the land. And it is only $8 a day which is a bargain in entertainment for me. How long will the owners want to pick up trash?

People are just lazy and thoughtless. Respect the property, respect the beauty of nature, respect the cows and critters who let us play on their ranch.

Right on! I think your DH is right about who is doing it, too. Snots!

Y'know, I decided to not do the race. Everything y'all said was dead-on, and what I wanted to hear... but I guess I have confidence issues. I just couldn't start the race being new to racing and knowing that The Wall and The Grind were at the end of that race and I would HAVE to walk them... let alone what would happen on Fat Chucks or whatever that bad first climb was. I would rather my first race be something I at least knew I could do all of (on a good day), KWIM?

You are right, The Wall and Grind... scared the snot out of me. Just like the Wall at WC, but about 3x higher. I think I better be able to do the WC Wall without blinking before I even attempt those two. YIKES!

    argh

Yep, we have this same issue at races down here. In the pre race briefing, the rd does mention to throw yer packets etc in your back pocket. It applies to the little folks up to the BIG guns.

You can wash your clothes after.. & it's not a huge deal if you get a sticky pocket from yer GU etc

Completely understand, RHR surprised me on how hard it could be without really being technical at all.

Try Warda in the spring if you can and want to race. I have not ridden it yet but DH really wants me to go out to Warda to really boost my confidence. He thinks it is an excellent beginner's race course and I might even be ready for it.

He thinks RHR is hard for a race just because of the rocky climbs. You are ready to race but DH is even worried about RHR and how to pace himself so he is ready for the Wall and not blown up!
