Wow.
I had wanted to get into this half-marathon last year - it's appropriately called the "First Half" and it's on February 15th this coming year - but didn't sign up fast enough.
Registration was opening this morning, I got up at 6, open my computer, they were already 49.9% sold!!! (And they did not open at midnight but rather sometime in the early morning.) It is now not even 7 a.m. and it's 59.3% sold out. The race is capped to 2,000 because it goes around Stanley Park in Vancouver and there can only be so many people on that path. They also have a 3-hour cut-off, so basically there can be no recreational walkers. Even then, they sell out really fast.
This should be an interesting event!

I heard the NYC triathlon sold out in 22 min this year! Sheesh!

Wow, those are selling fast too!
They are full now. According to the web site they opened at 5:00 a.m. and closed at 8:27 a.m. That's less than 3 1/2 hours! (Last year was under 5 hours.)
Now I just have to increase my long runs! And get new running shoes.
