Hmmm... I looked at some reviews and talked to the BF, and it seems that Shimano made some big improvements between the 540s and 560s on spoke attachment. Seems plenty of people breaking the 540 spokes. Hopefully that wouldn't be a problem for me at 125-130lbs, but I think I'd be less inclined to use them for training (lots of potholes around here) and more for just spares. My BF won't do long training rides on his. So, I'd be looking at not paying much at all for 540s.

Of course, I only got my front 16 spoke wheel untrue once, and that was due to an emergency stop where I couldn't get unclipped, and I wound up falling on the wheel. It wasn't even that out of true.
