and the fans go Wild!!! goodonya Laura.....that's quite an accomplishment!! and it sounds like you had fun at the same time!!

    Job Well Done!!

and Laura gets a She-Ra Princess of Power Tiara too!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

    Thanks for the race review!

Sounds like you did a great job! I wish I could run a 9 mile mile! I can't even do that in a sprint tri!

    Congrats on the wonderful finish!

    Congratulations

    Wow knapplaura,

I`m so impressed and excited for you. I would be a nervous wreck too! Great time too. Was there a cut-off time at all? Would you do it again?

    So what's your next goal?

Hey KSH, I'm with you, a 9 minute mile would be a sprint for me!!!!!! Only in my dreams.

I think for most half IM's there is a cut off time... well, if it is a qualifying race there is.

The relay team I have together for a half IM on 9-11-05 is 8 hours. Sounds like a lot... but you need to be on top of your game in all the events to make it with time to spare!

But, maybe hers did not have a cut off time?

Yea, I am really challenged by my poor running. I can do pretty good... IF I run around 10-15 miles a week. When I was running a lot a few months ago, I was able to do 2 miles in 14 mins.

Unfortunately... I can't just run 5-8 miles a week and keep my mile below 10 minutes.

I think in the off season though, I want to focus on becoming a better runner. Maybe taking a course for improving my 10K time?

    Slow Runner

    Hi KSH,

Yup, me too. I also plan to work on my running by doing lots of sprints and some hill running and weights as well. I just love it when people say "I'm so slow, I only run an 8:00 min mile!! Who did they think they are kidding!

    Thumbs up Nice work!

Good stuff Laura. I think that lot would have taken me about 6 days.
Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.
