    Anyone have a Klein?

My DH is in the market for a carbon bike and is interested in a Klein Q Elite XV. He rode it and liked it, but has had trouble finding any info/reviews anywhere. Part of the appeal for him is having something unusual (obscure, even). Anyone have one or have an opinion? Thanks!

kerryhb, I had a Klein Aura XV for 4 years. That's an aluminum frame with carbon fork and chainstay, but I loved it! It was my dream bike when I had an entry-level one and I was so excited when I got it. I would absolutely recommend a Klein. I really liked the internal cable routing and haven't personally seen any other frames with that feature. Two thumbs up!

Are they still making Klein bikes? I know that Trek bought them out a few years ago and there were rumors that they were going to discontinue the line. The Klein web site is over a year old.

I think you're right...it's a 2007. He actually bought it yesterday and is out on his club ride right now. He is so excited!

One of the greatest crimes commited by Trek upon the biking world, in the view of my DH.

DH has had 2 Klein road bikes, and we currently have 2 Klein mountain bikes. He loooved his Kleins (now, he's riding a Seven, and spec'd the ride characteristics to be as stiff and lively as his beloved Klein).

Sounds like I'm a bit late responding (glad he went ahead and bought it!) but just wanted to chime in here and say I absolutely love my Klein! I have a 2002 Quantum that I found used on eBay, and even though it's a full aluminum bike, it has none of the "road chatter" that is typically associated with all-aluminum bikes. Gary Klein definitely knew what he was doing -- it's a shame that Trek has phased them out, but I also enjoy riding a very unique bicycle! Mine was made just before the Trek purchase, and is one of the last frames made in Chehalis, WA. Absolutely amazing paint job, and the debossed decals are just super-cool.

Anyway, if your hubby wants to know more about Kleins, I found some useful info at this site
