My thumb's fine, the guy in front of me not so much so. And the reason my brother fell was because he realized he missed another of the poorly-marked turns. Tried to cut back quickly, and his tires slid out on the leaves.
The sad thing is that the route itself wasn't difficult at all, and was quite pretty because we were on a rails-to-trails for big chunks of it. I just couldn't enjoy it because I was constantly trying to figure out where I was.
What was the point of the class project? Psychology? Liability? Organization? I would have felt like a rat in a maze when I discovered teenagers were messing with me. If I remember those years, half of them probably didn't show up--thus no rest stops!
