Triathlon Bike - looking for some advice

I just started a search for a Tri Bike at a price point of around $2000 w/Ultegra vs. 105s. The dilemma I have is that my upper torso is short and my lower body is longer - I am only 5'5", but based on stack (48.5) and reach (38.5) measurements, along with the target top tube of around 50.2, the majority of models in my price range have been ruled out.

I am looking at the Orbea Aletta Dama, Trek Equinox (although only available with 105s) and possible a Kuota K-Factor.

Can anyone comment on their experience with any of these bikes, or have any other suggestions. I will be doing my first 1/2 and full IM tri summer 2009.

I don't have any experience with either of those. I have a Cervelo P2C. I think it's just going to come down to you riding them and seeing which is the best fit. I tried a Griffin (AMAZING bike- but very expensive- so I'm glad it didn't fit). I tried a Specialized and Quintana Roo. It'll come down to what feels right. Do you have shops in your area where you can try out various brands to see what's right for you? What seems wrong or right on paper may feel totally different when on the bike.

Look at Felt and Cervelo. Felt's 2009 model the B16 is listed (for now) at $2300, but with the economy the way it is I bet you can get one cheaper even though it's a new model. You'd be on a 50 in the Felts. Stack=48.5, Reach=39.0, TT=50

2008 B12s are going to be just out of your price range. In another month or so, maybe in your price range.

Cervelo's P2C would be another one that would probably work well, but a tad out of your price range. You'd probably ride the 48.

At your size, you should be on a bike with 650 wheels, which rules out the Treks and Orbeas.

Thanks for the additional info. Unfortunately, the Cervelos even at the 48cm reach is too long even in the smaller size. Still need to check out the Felt and also the Kuota's.
I am going to do Lake Placid and for the 1/2 the Rev3Tri in CT.
I have been to a few different shops so far, but haven't found the right match quite yet. I am in no hurry and will take my time.
