We still want to see the pics.... good or bad!
Hope you are getting some much-needed rest. And that you have a new full box of kleenex!

So funny -- I'm just the opposite. I always blow my nose on my gloves, shirt, etc. No biggie... they are going in the wash right after the workout anyway. But that really grosses out others! Apparently you are one of them! We do what we need to when we need to I guess!

But I am with you on the portapotties -- would rather go on the street with everyone watching! But, alas, I do have some pride. I use them when needed, skip them whenever possible. Sorry you had to see the inside of so many of them this weekend.

Take it easy and ease back into the week slowly.

    Race Course

Jes, it doesn't gross me out if other people do it. I even do it IF (and this is the hypocrite that is me) nobody else is around. I just have this pride thing sometimes. There were SO many spectators and other runners that I felt awkward being gross in front of them. The portapotties were just part of the grand adventure.

I was remiss in the course description!

If anyone has the chance to do this race, do it. I don't know how but it is mostly downhill. There is one hill at the St. Johns Bridge but it isn't that bad. It starts out in downtown Portland. We circled around and then headed back out. That was good because we saw the front runners as they were going out (we started in waves) and got a chance to applaud for them as we were running. We went through the town and then through businesses and then through this industrial area. There were water stops just about every mile. We went over the bridge and through this wonderful residential area. The people were out, even in the rain!!! People had jelly beans and power bars and kids were out with water and juice to give to the runners. One neighborhood had a group of people out with a bonfire/campfire with chairs around it

This was my first marathon so I had nothing to compare it to but to have mile 20 (+/- a bit) come at "Wall Street" was hilarious!!! Residents had "Wall" signs up and offered us food. Right around that area there was a belly dance group out in the rain offering support. The last 6ish miles were mostly a slight downhill. The race says that most people have a negative split and I can believe that.

I will definitely run this next year. I hope some of you can join me!

I'm mostly better today. I have a bit of chest rattle going on but am on the mend. DH is where I was two days ago. When I look at him, I can't believe I ran with this cold. It's ugly.

A belly dance troupe? I wonder if they'd let a novice not very good outside join them for the race?

T, you rock. Know that. Now, rest!

[QUOTE=teigyr;368767] I decided at the next porta-potty area, I would take matters into my own hands and if my body wanted to barf, so be it. It would. I ended up gagging up all sorts of colored mucus stuff but oddly enough afterwards, I felt better! QUOTE]

Again, the mental toughness of TE athletes shines through! Congratulations on finishing that race.
