I don't know if this is much help, but I just put the Vittoria Open Corsa EVO CX tires on my bike. My dh has had them on his for a while and really likes them. He, too, was looking for something that would give him less flats, only he still wanted performance. When I needed new tires, he told me to get the same thing he had. I'm not sure how different this tire is from the Randonneur, but them are my two cents!
