the only difference between pumps is having the right valve size. Check to see if the valves are the same on your tires (mountain vs. road)- Schrader or Presta. MOst pumps today can be used for either - they have dual sides for the size of the valve. I changed out my tires/tubes so I don't have to carry different equipment depending on which bike I ride.
