C'mon gals, this bike was only ridden twice as I blew my back out just after I finished building it (it was a real bummer).

This must be a 2003 or 2004 bike, right? I don't see a Fuel 98 in Trek's archives after that.
It looks like it must be a 15.5" frame, not 16", based on what it says on the Trek web site. My current hardtail is a 16" frame, and I think it's on the small side, so I don't think this would work (but I can't find Trek's geometry chart for this bike so I can't check.)
That is a great bike. I hope its new rider will enjoy your efforts.

wow! Everytime I look at your ad I think "wow!"
But... 16" frame is too tall for me, I think. I am 5'3" with inseam of 28"....
I think I need a 13" or 14"...
Where are you (and the bike) located??
Bump for a great mountain bike!

I'm in Arizona. The frame does run small, my partner is 5'2 and it fits her well. I like a smaller frame easier to handle!

Is this still for sale? I'm trying to research it a bit, do you have the info on the components/etc. or what year it is? Thanks!!!
Well, strangley enough, 4 years after my disectomy, I am able to ride upright bikes again! I couldn't stand it the other night, looking at this gorgeous Trek I built up from scratch. Two rides later I feel great, a bit neck sore, but otherwise my back feels fine.
Still love my Bachetta Aero for road riding! Nothing like a recumbent, and the saddle sore sure did remind me of that!
