I had to resurrect this thread! Here are some from my ride(s) today (I got 2 canyons in as I wanted to catch the color before it gets blown off in the storm that's supposed to arrive tomorrow).

City Creek Canyon--right in my 'hood!

    Millcreek Canyon--right in Alex's 'hood!

    Millcreek again, higher up.
(kind of messed up the stitching on this one)

    Alex enjoying the PERFECT weather.

    Talking

    Very pretty!

Our fall colors are still GREEN

But we do have "fall" weather, the lows are in the 60's, and afternoon highs in the low 80's. My bike is calling me. The weather is prefect, no more afternoon thunderstorms, "come ride!!!"

Well, the aspen are really still only about halfway there. The red is mostly Rocky Mtn maple. There is some sumac in there as well.

I'm hoping to get Mr. Yellow out tomorrow before the storm hits, but it looks like we might not make it. I'm glad I was able to scoot out of work early today and tackle both of the canyons.

OK, I like this thread....but I cringe every time I read the thread title "foilage".
Now I have to read it for a whole 'nother autumn!
Um....it's foliage. We're not talking tin foil here!

    Curses, foiled again!

I'll be going back to my ancestral territory (the Berkshires in Western MA) for a wedding the 1st weekend in November. I guess the leaves will have pretty much fallen off by then. Rats.

I know this thread gives Lisa the fits, but I remembered crazycanuck's call for pictures and thought of her today while I was out.

Winter is due to hit tonight, and it was much colder today than it has been. A friend and I took advantage of the snow-free conditions to do a trail run up high. Still some color going on up there, but it's going fast. Here are a few shots. It was cloudy, so the light was flat.

My friend running past some aspen

    Some rose hips

Some aspen (notice that the trees on the upper ridge have already lost all leaves and there are some on the left side that are still green)
