That's funny - heat does that to me! I practically want to nod off on my bike when I'm riding in very hot weather.

We went for a loverly, leisurely fall ride today - about 2 hours and 40 km. The cold was bearable long tights, vest, arm warmers - but man, did I need a nap.
I find it amazing what a kind of deep tiredness riding in cooler weather creates.

Cold makes me want to go to the washroom more frequently...especially when it drops to below freezing and I'm out for hrs.
I get watery eyes and I also have to eat more often on the bike so that I don't bonk.
I get a runny nose and watery eyes, but I also ride faster just to stay warm. I love the cold for that.
Our cold is most people's idea of fall so take this for what you will. I usually have tons of snot (yuck), watery eyes and crave a hot shower. Then my body is fatigued but not nap time tired, I just want to lay around. I am not a cold weather person so until I finally warm up to just slightly cold I am pretty cranky on the bike. I hate cold, hate it, hate it, hate it. I could do without it ever dropping below 50 degrees on a ride.
Now the heat, we can talk about that since we have 100 degree summers. I want a luke warm shower and a nap. Sometimes I have to force the shower because I don't want sweaty me under my sheets. LOL. But I love what some people think is hot (80-90 degrees), I feel like I can fly!![]()

You don't have to be great to get started, but you do have to get started to be great. -Lee J. Colan
My fingers lose circulation... but never all at once. It's usually just a couple at a time, and when it comes back, it hurts horribly. Otherwise, I am OK.
Cold makes it hurt to breathe. It's an asthma thing. I generally only ride in temps above 50 F.
If I can keep my fingers, ears and toes warm, I am OK. I've learned to deal with the runny nose.
I don't find that it tires me nearly as much as heat.
