I tore a calf muscle Tuesday playing tennis, and finally ventured out on my bike this morning to see if I would be able to ride. And YAY! I was. I did 16 miles over an hours time, just on flats and slight inclines. Not scenic or exciting, but I was outside again, feeling the fall breeze and warm sun, and that was enough for me!!

Northern Neck River Ride. It was a wet start but a beautiful finish. I only ended up doing 20 or so miles due to the rain. It was still alot of fun.

Down in Rolla visiting my parents, so took the mtb along. I went to Lion's Club park mtb trail, 3.7 miles. I rode it through once then turned around and rode it backwards once. It's such a nice trail; packed dirt with some roots and rocky creek crossings. No steep hills, just rolling terrain. Just in case you get to thinking it's too easy and you can go fast, there's lots and lots of sharp turns and narrow spaces between trees. Every time I ride it, it reminds me why I like mountain biking so much. It's in a very busy park, but it's so quiet and peaceful in the dense trees, and the tires are silent on the dirt singletrack. I never get tired of it.
