Yup, been there, done that before. Came up to a red light and pulled my left foot out. Suddenly started tilting right and that was all she wrote. The worst part was I was at a very busy intersection with a ton of construction going on. Traffic was backed up due to the construction so LOTS of witnesses!!! Thank god I was visiting my sister out in Michigan when this happened so no one to reccoginize me.
I still have a nice scar on my leg from that escapade.

I've done this too, twice in one week as a matter of fact. First time was my first time out on my new clipless pedals and I was stopping in a driveway coming out of a shopping center and my DH came up really close to me and scared me and i freaked out and tipped over.
Second time i was actually stopped and unclipped and standing in the bike lane at a red light and i just lost my balance and went down right on top of the sidewalk. I actually landed sitting down on the sidewalk with my bike on top of me and i couldn't get up and my foot didn't unclip when i fell and i was at such a weird angle that i couldn't get my foot to unclip so i had to take my shoe off. There was a long line of cars and the light turned green as i was still trying to collect myself and get back on my bike, the first car in line wanted to make a right turn and felt the need to wait for me to turn...i wasn't even back on my bike yet! I had to wave him on for him to go because not only did i fall in front of everyone but i was holding traffic up too!
