Shoe Selection in your LBS (Portland, OR)

Bike Gallery has a good selection of Specialized shoes. They didn't have my size in stock at the location that I went to, but they had a couple pair sent over from another location for me to try on. They had other brands as well, (Shimano, I think & possibly SIDI), but I wanted to replace a particular pair of Specialized shoes that I had lost.

Team Estrogen is very good about accepting returns, & you can pick things up & drop them at their office, since you live in the Portland area. (They're right off of Hwy 26, in Hillsboro.)

I'll have to hit up Bike Gallery then. I've looked at the one on SE Woodstock, but they didn't have too much either. Is there a certain location that is bigger than the others? Maybe the downtown location?

And thanks for the tip on the TE pickup/dropoff thing! I was worried about ordering something and if it didn't fit, having to keep paying for shipping both ways. I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

I'll second the recommendation for TE! I'm in NC, so I do have to pay shipping. But, they've been excellent about answering questions, measuring stuff, etc.

There's a Pearl Izumi store at the Woodburn Outlet Mall that has a pretty decent selection. At least I think it's still there...I didn't stop in last time I was out there. The only downside is that some of the staff don't know a lot about bike shoes.

yeah, i stopped at the Pearl Izumi store a few weeks ago, and they didn't have too much. The salesguy was pretty useless, and I really didn't find anything that fit me right. The two models that looked like they might work, they didn't have in my size. *shrugs*

Well, drat. Hubby and I went there some months ago and he found some nice road shoes on clearance. There was one guy that actually knew what he was talking about, too. Must've been a good day.

I can't see them lasting very long out there if nobody knows diddly about bike stuff.
