A 50-miler on Saturday? Wow! Even though this is your first road bike, you've ridden lots before I gather - what did you ride?
I've been riding a Raleigh Hybrid since April and have logged almost 1800 miles on it since then, with my longest distance to date being 65 miles. I typically ride 90-130 or so miles per week.

What kind of Raleigh Hybrid, specifically? Ive been looking for a beater bike/commuter and just rode the Raleigh Cadent FC1. It sparked my interest but not too much info on this bike around the 'net.

BEAUTIFUL! (However, I just bought a Trek with the same seat--be careful, I never had problems before and was fit at the LBS! Bought a Brooks...........)

So far, I love the seat and the bike! It's very comfortable. I did my first group ride ever with it yesterday--we did 45 miles in 3 hours (our pace was slowed by my struggling with some small hills, I'm used to FLAT!). But, I never got a bit sore, not even my bike or shoulders or any other body part. And, I had to drive 3.5 hours each way to even get to the ride.

I had so much fun, too! Riding in a group was a blast!

    That is a nice bike.

Btw, you have to be seriously addicted to riding. To ride 3.5 hours to ride with a group and then drive 3.5 hours home again! I drove 4 hours on Saturday to go to a wedding and drove back the next day and it just about killed me..I am exhausted today.
