My silent time is during my commute. 1.5 hours of total silence a day- just the sound of the highway humming beneath me.
I live in OKC, too.That storm was wicked. We lost power for 5 days, and after 2 nights in the freezing cold (no wood burning fireplace) we went to a friend's house. It was cool to play 1800's with candles, tho, and to hear the cracking of limbs. Not something I'd like to repeat.

Listening to the sounds of tree limbs cracking and falling under the weight of the ice was both eery and beautiful.
