my vote is no. I think too much subdividing for minute topics is bad for a forum. ( and yes, I think cold weather apparel is a minute topic) As for topics recirculating, that is the nature of the net. You can always ignore reoccuring topics, make a sticky about them, or hope the search is easy to use.

I'm just thinking......since there are a growing number of new members, maybe having this information easily available might help. It's hard to find information at your fingertips about riding on ice or snow. Just my 2 cents and you know what they say......

a more general idea could be plain "winter riding", and include everything from winterizing your bike to clothing to tips for winter riding. It's not a minute topic to me unfortunately ok, it's not half the year, just feels like it, but it's a 1/3 to 1/4 of the year and it's the one that takes the most forethought and the most planning.
Winter riding is much less about badassery and much more about bundle-uppery. - malkin

I totally agree with this idea. For us, 'cold weather' biking (where you have to start doing/wearing special things in order to keep from feeling numb in the wind chill) can last from October through March. It can be a real science to figure out how to ride through the winter.
