given the number of celebs photographed riding high end Specialized I would almost venutre to guess Specialized gives them the bike.

Funny you should mention that.

Here's a picture of the brothers Hayden at this weekend's MotoGP race being presented with S-Works bikes in each of their team colors (sort of). (if you're not aware of it, most motorcycle racers train on road and mountain bicis these days.)

Considering the cost of advertising vs. the price of the bikes, it's cheap publicity for Specialized.
