Fortunately for some, he can't really keep up. He's apparently a really nice guy, and my friends liked doing some slow laps with him and chatting (particularly one guy who works for a firm which basically does PR for politicians). They just didn't want to be near him in the fast group.
From that article, it didn't sound like he was too slow (it's all relative). He is 65.
I have seen him riding around here, in Concord. In fact a couple of years ago, he wiped out on some sand right downtown. A lot of people saw and it was the talk of the town among cyclists. So, maybe his skills are a bit off!
Hahaha...thanks. Those guys drop me like a hot potato in the sprints. Kerry can hang on to the group sometimes, but he's not winning the sprints. Lots of pretty fast riders can get out of control when the group starts cruising at 30+mph leading up to the sprint.
I wonder what he would've done had he been elected president... would he have a secret service motorcade surrounding him for a DC area ride? That would be sweet. Being motorpaced by the secret service.
