Some friends, DH, and I rode an epic network of trails today, for a grand total of 22+ miles, 2800+ feet of climbing (and a whole lot of descending), and 6 hours of riding. The defining moment of the day, for me, was a rock slab about 15 feet long, and extremely steep. It was a bit of a surprise in an otherwise fairly non-technical ride, and as I cleared it (thinking "butt back, butt back, butt back" the whole way down) I let out a noise something like a squeal. It was the sound of terror, accomplishment, and sheer joy blended into one. I think three out of the four riders made some noise on that obstacle =)
