A rough day

I shipped a kid off to college last week. While it still feels weird, the strangest part was leaving her at an empty campus. She had to be there early for Marching band camp.

I shipped a kid off to college last week. While it still feels weird, the strangest part was leaving her at an empty campus. She had to be there early for Marching band camp.

Band camp will be such a great thing for her- it certainly was for me. By the time the other freshmen arrive, she will already know plenty of people and how to get around campus. She'll feel like a seasoned pro If her band is anything like mine was, she's in good hands.

I work at a college and the freshmen moved in yesterday. Let's just say there were lots of parents looking both confused and sad and a lot a students wearing the same expressions. I'm remember being there too and it's a huge transition that just takes time. Hang in there!

My nephew, who I love like he was my own son, is leaving for college next week. I'm in S.A., he'll be in Austin, so it's not super far, but still...

We also just dropped off our eldest at university today - 2.5 hours away. At least he's not in another province. Didn't get to meet his roomate - he wasn't in, but he has size 13 feet!

Another one of life's transitions. OMG, I'm the mother of a university-aged young adult!!!
