Absolutely "Woot" away! I love to hear sounds of total happiness when I'm out on the trail with friends.

I occasionally "woot". More often I make involuntary sounds when I nearly bite it. Usually a quick "Oooo!", followed by giggles when I don't actually bite it. Sometimes followed by a short conversation with myself about what a dork I am.

I also find myself riding alone quite often, and will talk to anything I see out there ... squirrels, deer, the bobcat, the coyote ... whatever.

I guess that makes me sound a little crazy though, and maybe you shouldn't take advice from me.
I don't crash so much anymore (less blood on the trail), so just call me Stephanie

I'll tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than any one thing in the world. I rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a bike. It gives her a feeling of self-reliance and independence the moment she takes her seat; and away she goes, the picture of untrammelled womanhood. ~ Susan B. Anthony

OH My...then we are all FREDs. I ride 99% of the time by myself...and the yelling ranges from yeahhhhh to 'the four letter kind'. I just can't help it!

One thing I think you don't find (other than maybe hill climbing?) is that mtn bikers, or the ones I have ridden with, often like to whoop it up with you ...It's a great feeling to impress yourself, but also to impress and get compliments from other riders! So chatter and whoop away!

I grunt when I MTB, especially during "power" uphills or tight sections. DH and our MTBing friend Bill find great amusement in listening to me make noises like a gorilla

Compared to me, "whooping" sounds positively angelic!
