I wouldn't put up with that- If you order it from Wallingford online then you can return it (or exchange it) after trying it out for a good long while:

If you read more in the saddle threads on the forums here, you will see lots of posts comparing the B17 and B68. What I do not recommend is their shorter "S" styles, such as the B17S. The rails are so short they limit how far you can move your saddle front to back, thus severely limiting you ability to adjust your bike fit. Women don't really 'need' shorter saddles in general anyway.
The B17 is narrower at the sitbone area than the B68.
Order a B17 from Wallingford, ride it for a month, and if it's not wide enough you can exchange it for the B68.![]()
