I was just sitting here browsing the posts and wondered how you were healing. I hope you're able to go down and enjoy HHH this weekend!

    Getting better

I went to my regular doctor on Wednesday and she took an x-ray. There were no fractures or breaks. She confirmed the diagnosis of tendonitis and put me on steroid therapy for 7 days....I won't be able to ride for another week though. As of right now (520 am Friday) it is still swollen and sore. I have more mobility and the swelling has gone down some.......It's just too soon to ride because of the chance of re-injury

Oh well, as the french (and one of my tatoo's) say, "C'est la vie"

I look forward to doing my first century soon though. Do you know of any other cool one's that aren't too far from us??

As a matter of fact - Yes! However, it'd be a might-bit more hilly than the HHH. Is that okay?

I can totally recommend D.A.M.J.A.M in Pryor, Oklahoma. That'd be closer to you than Wichita Falls, and less expensive lodging too!

This is a very cool ride. I do this one every year - except I just do the 3/4 DamJam (71 miles). I'd try the century though if you will!

P.S. SORRY that your HHH hopes were quashed (sp?).

    Yes!!

My friend and I have already made plans to go!!! I'm not sure if we will do the 71 or the 101 option but I am looking forward to it. I'm trying to stay off of the ankle and am keeping it in a brace most of the time so as not to re-injure it. It should be good to go by then. Thanks for keeping up with it and for the encouragement!!!

AWESOME AWESOME! Did you guys get signed up yesterday (in time for the shirt?)? I know I know... the t-shirt's not a deal breaker or anything... However, these shirts are usually pretty cool.

Anywhoo... on a more exciting note... I'm so glad you're gonna come! You won't regret this one at all! The ride's views are way more appealing than Wichita Falls and the roads (for the most part) are better than chip-n-seal anyday! The rest stops are homey and everyone is SUPER nice.

DamJam Jim is a regular rider in my neck of the woods and HE's super nice too. I just can't say enough about this ride. We always look forward to it.

I will caution you.. now that you're signed up.. (muah haa haaa) There is only ONE hill that is write-home-to-momma-worthy... :P I haven't been up with with my Garmin yet, but let's just say "gut check".

Keep nursing that ankle of yours.. .The countdown's on (again) !
