My kitties are easily adjusting to our new home. They don't miss Brodie nearly as much as I do.
First-Emma Lee and Cooper
Then-Cooper biting his nails
Lastly- About a month before Brodie travelled the rainbow bridge.
"Do or do not. There is no "try." Yoda
So, we started out with our first cat, Velnix. She has since crossed over the rainbow bridge. We were so distraught without her in the house that we had 3 foster kitties living with us by the end of the week. Two of them still live with us - Ivy & Rowan.
Before losing our kitty we had adopted a dog from a shelter, a "pit-bull" (I won't get on my soap box yet) - Her name is Zemuda.
Then we adopted a tiny black kitten that rode home in the engine of my brothers truck - Lasher (not so small any more!!)
Somewhere along the way we adopted a kitten from a neighbor who also passed over the rainbow bridge (no pic) - her name was Izyne
Then there was Bug, a dog we sent to my parents house to live when our neighbor found her as a very small puppy in the middle of the street on her morning walk. She ended up moving back to our house last October.
Then there was Xilev --- She was a tiny kitten out in the cold. When we found the people she belonged to they said "it's ours but we're keeping her outside." I guess the disgust showed on my face b/c the mother said very hatefully "bring it in!!!" When she was out again a few days later in the ice and sleet I must have held the door open for a little too long b/c she moved in and hasn't moved out
We love each of them very much and keep telling ourselves we are at full capacity but we are in search of a larger home and have discussed adopting maybe, possibly, just one more....!!!!
You can read a little about Ivy, Zemuda & Rowan at the following website http://www.blue-hawk.org/happyhomes.html

There is nothing like the expression on a rottie that is humiliated. Priceless.
KVIXON: BTW... that doesn't look like any pit bull to me!
And MORLEY: Looks exactly like my "Smudge" kitty -- she also is a Hit by car head trauma girl / and she is just like velcro to a lap! Maybe they know each other!
I just brought poor Mac (my 11 yr black lab) home from the vet's (yes... I know I'm a vet, but I don't want to work on her!). She had her teeth cleaned and 5 lumps (all fatty ones) removed. She is SO tired and out of it. Poor thing. I have her burrito'd in her blankets and even gave her a pillow. She has bald spots EVERYWHERE -- neck, shoulder, throat, front leg and belly. hopefully it will all grow back in before winter!
Everyone Deserves a Lifetime
She's probably not full American Pit bull Terrier but that's what she appeared to be when we adopted her and before she put on weight (she's working on her weight). She has the 'pitty' smile when she's smiling. You should see her when she sprints and her ears are blown back and her tongue is hanging out!!! She's also a solid red color with a red nose.
We often get propositioned while walking her by owners of male "red nose pit's" who want to mate their dogs with her....It's really weird. Due to her weight (which she is oblivious to) we are often asked when her puppies are due and if they can have one.
Because of possible legislation in our city and legislation in other cities we have her listed as a "medium sized mixed breed" with our vet. We fight Breed Specific Legislation here (Oklahoma city) because we don't want our dog to be put down b/c she "looks like" a pit-bull which is what unfortunately happens due to the language used in current and proposed legislation.
Either way, Zemuda is our baby and we love her as we do all of our babies.

I have to say I love looking at all the pets. I always look at this thread
DH messaged me this picture today. This is Albert. We have five rescue cats, Albert is the latest. We got him a bit over a year ago. I remember posting here because I didn't possibly think we could handle yet another cat!!! He was a pound cat and was/is young; he is also about 25 lbs. He isn't fat. This is Albert in a box that housed a case of beer. A case...just to put it in perspective. He takes up the whole box!!!
I don't know if it's just our cats but we can buy them all sorts of toys and what they want are the boxes from Costco. I don't get it. They are contrary beasties.
Albert fit in a box! He looks quite svelte in there.

First time trying to post a picture so not sure if this will work. But I love seeing everyone's pets so thought I would add mine.
This is Max. We adopted him from a family who just could not keep up him as they worked long days and had to crate him all day. He is an absolute joy
