    In all likelihood the pear shape of the Terry is contributing to the chafing, too. Try a more T-shaped saddle and compare, that will give you an idea if you are a pear-rider or a T-rider. Unfortunately, there's no shortcut to figuring that one out. (that I know of, anyway!) Just trial and error. But if you are chafing at the fold at the top of your leg (kind of like in what would be the panty-line, or the hamstring attachment) that's pretty classic for a saddle that might be too pear-shaped for the motion of your hip joints.
