The team of designers in charge of coming up with a bicycle design for Montreal's upcoming self-serve bicycles project has come up with a concept for the bike, and thousands of names have been submitted by citizens. A short list has been drawn.
If you'd like to see what the bikes will look like, and even maybe vote on the name, you can click here:

I have voted for "Bycik" because it sounds really Quebecois. However, as we can vote many times, I might vote for "Mont'Velo" tomorrow". "VillaVelo" (literally CityOnBicycle) is cute too.
Can't wait!!

I hope this succeeds.
They say "first in North America" but Washington, DC just launched their program.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Great idea to have a fun name branding contest!
Really hope it works. If one knows Montreal, it feels like the "right" city ...gives the illusion to non-Canadian tourists, they are sorta in a pseudo-European city, cycling over cobblestone in older sections of Montreal (where there are often too many tourists..).
My partner knows someone who is seriously thinking of visiting Montreal from our area to check out the new system.
That's great! I like Mont'Velo because sounds like "my bike" in French.
Montreal is one of my favorite cities, along with Quebec (city). It's like being able to drive to France (kindof).
