Helps with soreness and blister prevention on long rides.

If your hands get sweaty, your grip won't be affected.

I've been in search of the perfect glove for a while now. It seems they all have padding where I don't need it and lack padding where I do need it.

But last week I forgot to pack a pair of gloves in my bag for my post-work Wednesday ride, so I did the ride with bare hands. And I found that my hands hurt less than they do with gloves on, but were so sweaty that I felt like they would slide off the handlebars (and this is a road bike with bar tape).

So now I think I will look for gloves with minimal padding.

FWIW, I've heard good things about the Pearl Izumi PRO gloves, but since there's no velcro'd opening at the wrist, I think they would start to feel too tight on a long ride.
