Pardes, don't be so down on your commute! It's amazing how that three mile commute was adding up for me over the winter

Nope, I'm not down on myself. Every day that I'm on the bike, I'm so glad to be alive and so glad to be biking.

With panniers loaded to the hilt last night with new windbreakers, jackets and coats for biking in rain/fall winter, I was thinking about how radically one can change their life by the simple act of crawling up on a bike. Amazing. And to think a month ago I was wondering what on earth to do for fun......

..... and now you've discovered what we all knew .... shopping for bike gear!

Speaking of bikejournal, I won! A Vetta RT288L wireless computer on bikejournal. You know that contest in the upper righthand side of the page? They actually give stuff away.

My roadbike has a computer so I'll install this on the commute mobile.

Holy cow...I know I've been slacking, but...

I just checked my bikejournal account and I've got a big whopping zero for the year! Have I really failed to log a single ride over there this year? I guess so!

Hmmm...maybe I can do an estimate based on how long my commute is and how much we've ridden since we moved here? Ugh...what a pain! Maybe I'll just start with August and go forward. That gives me much less of a headache.

Thanks for the reminder. We are now in the top 5 clubs!! I think estimates are find for folks that haven't been logging all along. You can enter one number using the bulk mileage entry, and then start logging individual rides from here on out.

I went in and found the site very confusing for trying to add my rides on the maps--I like mapmyride.com much better. But anyway, I did go in and join the TE team and add my total miles for YTD of 1087 miles to our total.

I did it!!! I finally checked out bikejournal.com and logged all my rides from this year ... or at least 95% of them since my bike computer broke in February, borrowed hubbies for a while for "most" rides, got mine replaced, then had it stolen when our house was broken into, ... BLEH!!!! What a mess! Anyways, I've been going to check out that site and I'm glad I finally did. How fun it is to see my totals. Over 1,000 for this year so far!

I'm also glad someone asked if you can list more than one club affiliation and that someone else explained how to do that.

    Thanks ladies!

I have been logging mine but not nearly as many miles as last year. Priorities have shifted, I am starting to run after work and mountain bike (few miles but not 30 at a time). PLus I am not doing a bunch of centuries this year, so I am not riding my legs off. Still I have contributed 1,700+ and probably will add some more this week since I can commute home.
