Gloves?

The blisters on my hands are telling me to wear gloves. I can't find any comfy ones though! I HATE climbing with them on and usually take them off then, but yesterday that resulted in two huge blisters on one hand and one on the other.

I guess I'm looking for something SUPER LIGHT and stretchy. My hands usually get irritated between the fingers (webbing area if we were ducks...lol) by most gloves.

Any suggestions?

I like the Body Geometry gloves by Specialized. I have both the gel and the "plain" versions.

The plain ones might be kind of like what you are looking for. Very light, almost no padding on the palm (once it squooshes down after a week or so) and the lycra fabric of the glove is thin and very stretchy.

I don't like any padding on gloves and recently discovered the Craft Active glove. very light, no velcro and a thin grippy palm w/no bulky pad at all. they breathe really well also.

Oh, and it's nice to be back. I'm going to have to hit you up for some advice. After my confusing year of not knowing what I want to do (doubles, climbing events, CRITS?!?!?, road races) I think I've settled on the HARD doubles and road racing for next year. Looks like I'll have to come up to your neck of the woods for those.

I'd love to do DMD and TT! I realized I am not a crit racer and I just love climbing, so I think these would be great challenges for me. Of course, I'll probably retract that statement after Everest Challenge.

After looking around for ages for relatively lightweight gloves with a bit of terrycloth, I finally found these Louis Garneau XRW Ergo Air Gloves which I think are really nice

They might be a bit heavier than what you're looking for, but I thought I'd mention them.

I did some crits years back and they were a blast. ironically, I decided the time commitment needed to race with a team was greater than I could spare w/the kid right now, so doing the long distance stuff was better.

You might also look at the Castelli Maya. I have them - not sure I love them because of the lack of padding - but they might be just the ticket for you

I have a pair of the plain BG gloves, too, and find them more comfortable than my Pearl gloves.

I've had a lot of problems trying to find gloves that didn't cut me between the fingers. Performance' century gloves work the best for me. They're fairly cheap normally and they go on sale a lot, too.

I just gave up Pearl Izumi after 2 years and switched to Specialized. I felt the Pearl Izumis were way too padded and stretched out too much on a ride. The Specialized I picked were the Comp but it seemed the Sport version were even thinner. These new gloves have minimal padded and are much more breathable than my PI gloves.

I just bought my 2nd pair of Trek gloves. The not gel ones. They have a thin leather palm and hold up to washing. I wouldn't have needed a new pair if one of my old ones hadn't dissapeared.
