I have the same bike!
Mine also came with ultegra front derail. and bontrager race crank like you mentioned. I am thinking Trek's website might be incorrect. Nonetheless, it is a fantastically fun bike - I've had mine about two years and still love it!
My bike is my Benz.

Indeed! My 2008 7.2FX WSD hybrid looks to be the same color as redranger's 2007 1600 WSD. It's pretty sharp, huh?

My '07 Pilot is the same color. Trek must have gotten a good deal on that paint.
